The new RS170 C46 wheels are Shimano’s new 105-level carbon all-rounder wheels. With a 46mm depth rim the C46’s strike a balance between climbing prowess and acceleration with aerodynamics. The full carbon fiber rim shares a similar profile to the higher tier C50 Ultegra and Dura-Ace rims and utilizes D2 technology to make the rim more laterally stiff and vertically compliant. You’ll find the 21mm internal rim width pairs well with the tubeless compatibility to deliver support for wider tires and at lower pressures. The sealed hubs keep things rolling smooth and as with other Shimano hubs can be easily accessed for maintenance. Support for both 11-speed and 12-speed cassettes means you won’t have to upgrade your drivetrain to gain access to Shimano’s latest wheel technology.
